WEDDING COLORS

There are so many things to think about when it comes to wedding planning. A cake? The flowers? What about the center pieces? A good place to start, is to define a general color scheme\vibe for your wedding. This will help the design flow and will also give you a little more direction when it comes to choosing details for the big day.

Something that cannot be stressed enough is the idea of having a broad color scheme. Meaning, that while the idea of “my colors are burnt orange and ivory“ is a nice one and gives some clear direction, make sure that you are also taking into account the blush pink in the flowers and the various shades of green that come with the greenery. When you add these colors to your overall color scheme, you can use them for other subtle details in your design that will keep the vibe natural & curated rather than stiff & coordinated.  We definitely aren’t saying that you can’t match your plates to the exact shade of the napkins, but instead to consider the fact that there is a beauty that comes in opening the door to a few more colors.

Here are some fun wedding Ideas that we have seen throughout the years.

SWEETHEARTS | COLOR SCHEME

The Sweethearts color scheme is so sweet! It put us in mind of young love and it just gives us butterflies. You need to be a little careful with this color scheme. If you focus too much on the idea of the burgundy and blush it can quickly turn into a Valentine’s Day look. This is the main reason behind bringing in the blues, and remembering the sage color that will come with the greenery. Using these additional colors will help balance out the décor and make it something to never be forgotten. We see this theme often in the winter months. There is something about the wine color and the snow that really makes it pop and feel like a winter wonderland.

MINIMALIST | COLOR SCHEME

Some of the prettiest weddings we’ve seen have also been the most simple. We love the idea of letting your florals be the decorations and creating a minimalist, simple wedding vibe. The main components of pulling off this look are stunning florals (as mentioned before) and a Venue that you already love. Your venue is base for this look, from there you add the florals and (A LOT of) greenery to complete the look.

BOHO | COLOR SCHEME

The Boho look is VERY in this year. From clothing to home décor, touches of the bohemian style can be so dreamy. A major component to this style is the idea of being a free and artistic. We love the mismatched and cozy vibe that’s created with a Boho theme. In this sample color scheme we have beautiful terracotta oranges mixed with muted blues. Make sure that you are also including a few earth tones with this to compete the overall look.

RETRO | COLOR SCHEME

The 70’s are back, and I we are here for it! We are loving the organic shapes and pops of color that channel your flower child energy. Even if you are not into the vintage flare, these colors can still be used in a more modern way. The oranges, yellows, and pinks are making us want to listen to some Elton John.
